The 4th chick was half eaten in the dog house. 😿
I'm thinking a smaller oppossum
Got a 2lb little male oppossum . He felt heavy for his size. But he had finished the chick and ate a couple eggs in the box trap.
To be honest,if I had seen him running around I would not have been too worried about him getting chicks. I would have thought he would have went for the food in the dish.....or two 8lb hens could have driven him off.
I have a couple hens missing from a different coop. I assumed they are nesting somewhere I haven't looked. Didn't find any bodies or signs of a struggle, but could have been drug off somewhere hidden

Hi Folks,

Sorry its been a while, I can't remember the last time I posted but things have been crazy. We suspect we all caught THE virus back at the beginning of July and we've been recovering since. A bunch of people at our church tested positive and we had just finished a week of VBS (Vacation Bible School) when we spent every evening together.

Then on Saturday, the poor Milk Drinker got a fever that lasted for 3 days. Monday, I took him to the doctor who wouldn't see him in person until he got a covid test (their policy is to do no in person visits for covid, even though it can cause secondary infections and that was what I was really concerned about). He tested positive. His fever, thankfully broke Monday night/Tuesday morning. My mom and MIL also go sick as well (for a second time) but the rest of us seem to have avoided it.

That sucks. I'm thankful that I've usually landed on helpful, well managed teams. Though our manager is moving on to a different job, so I hope the new manager doesn't come in and try to reinvent the wheel on a well established, well oiled team.
That covid is no joke .
Some people recover quickly and I pray you all are in that group. These latest varieties seem to be not as dangerous as the first few varieties.... just wish you were dead
I'm still fatigued from Nov 2020, but get an little better every month, so I have hope.

Good morning folks :frow

Good morning! :frow

I could see my breath this morning! I thought its August?
:frow Good morning Fishy, have a great day

Fishy, funny you should mention that. It's still hot here. My chickens normally molt towards the middle to end of Sept. They're in molt now. My duck started a week ago. I'm not sure what it means, maybe an early winter, or a hard one. All I know is it's unusual for them to start so early.

Good morning folks,

Things are better here but the Milk Drinker is still being cranky and needy, but otherwise seems perfectly fine. Though him fussing at every little thing is getting kind of annoying, lol.

I'm back from the hospital. Not good news. I'll be going to my Oncologist on Wed. One ray of sunshine is that my Covid test came back negative.

Thank you for your prayers. I'm not out of the woods yet, so please continue to pray for me.
I'm so sorry your cancer is back Clue, I read your leukemia thread on Thursday but didn't have time to respond. I'm glad it isn't as bad as it was first thought to be. Praying for you!
My dear friends.
I am so sorry to be the bearer of such heartbreaking news. @Chickassan passed away on the 7th of July.

I started a memorial thread if anyone wants to post their thoughts, condolences or share a happy memory.
Her husband is the one who contacted me. I am letting him know about the thread so he can pop in and read how much she was loved by us all.

She will be very much missed.
That's so sad, it's horrible to think she died just 8 days after she was the first to respond about my post about thinking I need to get rid of my meat birds and go down to just a few egg layers. She will be very missed. Has anyone heard what happened? When I first saw that she was gone, I wondered if the seizure problem got her.
