I'm somewhat new to pressure canning.
Does anyone have any good "meal in a jar" recipes they can recommend?
I'm looking to stock my shelves with jarred meals I can just heat and eat, and I think now is a good time to do it while I still have my own garden produce or can purchase produce from the farmer's market. So, does anyone have any recipes to share?
Both and few red for good measure taste is great for not having a recipe just guessing.Looks good. Green tomatoes or tomatillas?
This is awesome! Thank you! My sister is a vegetarian so this is perfect. I can do some veggie ones for her and meaty ones for me.
What's so great about this is you can add any veggies you want. I also add browned stew meat so it's an all in one meal. With the meat added, it gets pressure canned for 90 mins(quart jars) at ten pounds pressure for low elevations
You might also find helpful info here. I use it a lot. The first link has sources of all type of food preservation info. The second one has canning info and tested recipes. This is awesome! Thank you! Oh yeah I also have an old edition of that! They do have some meal-in-a-jar recipes in there too. I'm going to try some of those, but I'm always looking for more recipes.I also depend on the old ball canning book!
