I use my pressure canner all year. That is a great deal you got. I like wide mouth jars for canning chicken. The turkey fryer burner is idea is great! I'm getting close for salsa, but our peppers need to step up first. I freeze my tomatoes for salsa and sauce, so I have time.
Does freezing the tomatoes affect the texture much? I've never canned meat/poultry/fish before. Guess I should give it a try.

It separates the water out of the tomato so you don't have to cook it down as much for sauce etc. I don't do it for stewed tomatoes since I want the liquid with the tomato. Raw packing meat is the easiest canning. It doesn't look pretty, but it is shelf stable and easy to use.

Made sweet pickles today and a loaf of sourdough. Don't judge my sourdough, I broke my arm in two places last year and my starter died. I'm just getting back into the swing of things, so she isn't the prettiest, but by golly very yummy!

Those pickles look great! Did you use some sort of bread and butter pickle recipe? That's the next type of pickle I'm going to be putting up. And that bread looks better than any loaf I've ever made. Nice.

I can relate to losing use of an arm. I injured my shoulder a couple months ago and it's still hurting so much I can barely use it. MRI coming up on Wednesday.
