Did the paint bucket still have paint in it? This trauma almost sounds as if the ducklings have been poisoned.

There was a small amount of paint left, it rained and filled the bucket up so we immediately dumped it so they wouldn’t drink it but not sure if they got to it before we did. I will see if I have the funds for a necropsy.

@casportpony have you ever heard of a respiratory illness causing blood to come out from around the eyes of a duckling? Or any other disease.

I took "other animals" to mean waterfowl - as in the other ducks they own. My bad as I was getting dinner around. I didn't explain as much. The links are definitely very thorough.
