Had a really good lunch at Red Lobster, then went out to one of the local state parks checking out the old buildings and waterfalls. Then came home, put on a movie and pulled out the old photo albums and had a lot of fun reminiscing

What a wonderful way to spend the cold, windy night!! Always love flipping through old photos. Funny how many memories come flooding back with pics!

Ugh, I just straight up murdered one of the ko shamo eggs

I was opening the incubator to candle them real quick (this was one of the eggs that I set three-ish days ago) and the lid slipped and came down directly with all its force on this one egg. No saving it, totally smashed, egg white leaking into the incubator.

The worst part? The other two are developing beautifully, so chances are that one was too so I almost definitely killed it.

Aww! So sorry! Don’t beat yourself up though. Broody mamas will sometimes have accidents with their eggs, too. I’ve seen a broody step wrong getting back into her nest and smash an almost fully developed chick egg. It’s heartbreaking, but sometimes things happen.
