Yes miss. In some of my pictures there has been a white car in my front yard. It's been there over a year now and I've wanted it gone for a long time now.
This is a nephew by marriage. I basically inherited a full grown young man. Took him under my wing, and it went south. So yeah...

Okay, so I've got these breeding goals. Next year I anticipate hatching tons of eggs. I've been watching different local markets, talking to a few breeders and just trying to find outlets to sell birds through.

A large portion of what I expect to sell are sex links. Which if successful is going to leave me with lots of cockerels that too will need to be utilized. One market I'm looking in to for the males, is the raw dog food market. There are lots of people here looking for good quality poultry to feed their animals. It would give the birds a certain demise, but it would still be for a nutrition providing situation. Plus, more of the carcass will be utilized, minimizing the waste even more, also increasing value if sold by weight.

To get things rolling, and start testing out the raw food market, I've ordered 25 "fry pan bargains" cockerels from Meyer's. At $35 including shipping to FL, it's hard to beat their price.

Will anyone else in here be setting for Easter? I'm gonna set some kos tomorrow and some quail a few days later.

I also set 30 Aztec eggs today but they won't hatch until after Easter.

Today was the first day of the Golden Cuckoo Marans pair's freedom. They did great. Poor things where locked down linger than I'd like, but with recent scares, I wasn't trying. Not that it's safe now, but I really can't keep them pinned for ever. Anyways... Within 2 hours, one of the GL Orp girls was cleaning the roosters face. He's got a great attitude. Reminds me of Sully in most ways. He's bigger though, and Sully is not small by any means.

I've been in the yard with them all day, and there's been 4-5 scrimmages, all with the gersh durn Silkie roo. The pint sized flurry of ferocity. The albino feathered zip sickle know as Flip. I don't think he knows (or cares) that he's ¹/4 the size of this rooster. The Marans fella does posture and defend, but when I walk between them, he turns away and walks. The wispy whipper of whipped testosterone though, does not... Flip has serious Napolean syndrome...

I've already got... something like 40 eggs going.

These are the Sultan stock by the way. They do sell eggs on Ebay. I'll keep you posted on how they go. Do you know of hand if the color on the rooster is normal?
