I'm looking at you...
Winky wink. Can you give me your opinion on this cockerel. It's @cra8ychix and she's trying to figure out who to keep. This is the current "winner" to go over her hens. I've read the standard given here,
https://americansilkiebantamclub.org/pages/silkie-standard and he seems to fit it, but I don't have the experienced eye you do. (That's if I'm not making up that you breed Silkies. Am I?...)

She looks so much better with fur growing in! ❤
She's a joy to have around here. Her only "bad" quality is she has the typical big dog stubbornness. Like when something in the woods got her attention, and instead of coming, she just went to investigate in 18" of muck. :love

Good news is that coat washes and rinses really easily. She was dry in 3 shakes and 1 toweling, lol.

That tail picks up hitchhikers like a magnet though... Freaking street sweeper she is. :D

So... I didn't mean to send that yet. Left my phone open in my pocket. To answer you though, I'd have one right now if I could. It was such a neat experience. The first set we meet was their 3 year old breeders.

The lady walked up right to the male, placed a hand on his back and asked him to lay down. Instantly he went straight to the ground and just let us handle him. He was so nice, and loved his throat/neck to be rubbed. It went from slightly intimidating to being like a kids at a petting zoo.

Then, I went in the 3 month old pin. That was even cooler. The youngsters where super curious, and I had sandals on... Biting my big toe was really cute, made me laugh. My little toe though... I'm pretty sure I sounded like a scared school girl. Those "little" things sure do have strong jaws.

One thing I do know, is I whil have Emu some day. It was a much better experience than I expected. They did say Emu need to constantly be socialized, but that happens to be how all the birds here are treated. I think it would be really neat to have a pair to hang out with.

Of course I only got pics from the youngsters pin. I just got to excited when we went to the breeder pin and forgot lol.

The guy in the red is the husband/owner of the farm. Look at the smile he has. We where both like little kids in there. I love seeing people who love their animals.
Stooop!!! They are on my “To-Get” list as well!!! 😍
