Hi Shaw, i do get a notification when i am tagged. However, i do get too many notifications:
View attachment 2474942<- that is just one day
so i tend to miss a lot! My notification settings are messed up completely and i don't really know about what i should have notified myself and what not…
Holy crow that's a lot of notifications!

I would miss it too amonst that many.

It seems i am following too many forums, i am swamped with alerts like »New User 4711 has started a thread called "Help Please!"«
Guess i need to turn that off or drop some forums from the "watch"-list.
I just watch threads not the whole forum. I didn't know you could do that actually.

Also for thermometer, in my clear sided one I just use a mercury themometer and its accurate. Humidity however the eggs are on their own you can't buy that technology out here so its eye balled.

I bought 4 of those fancy guaranteed accurate ones for women to check their “hot” days to see if they are ovulating.
What an excellent idea! - Those are available for a few Ben's and should be accurate enough! I was searching for "calibrated digital thermometer" and those were twice as expensive than that 'bator. Of course accurate to 1/10,000 degree and switchable to every unthinkable scale from Celsius to Rankine, but who needs that?

Can you huddle with an Emu?
Or will it eat you right away? - I mean those are large (and scary) birds.

Mine are friendly. Ciara especially. I can walk right up to her and pet her and hug her, etc. Also I can dress her up, as you can see from the picture with the bow, haha.

I think i have decided on one model from Amazon (click on the picture for details):

With the Capacity for 18 eggs (i assume that is xicken eggs) it is not too large and not too small for my current needs. I especially do like the egg turner with its simplistic mechanics! I have heart too often that some small parts break in those swinging tray turners, rendering the whole thing useless. I don't think this one will break and it can be adjusted for different sizes of eggs - not that i need that for now, but who knows maybe i can find some donkey-eggs…
@Magnolia Ducks and @Pyxis i do not trust any uncalibrated electronic temperature sensor, to my experience they're all off by 1-2 degrees, what kind of thermometers do you use to calibrate your incubators?

I use reptile thermometers, the type with the probe, and I usually calibrate them with the ice water method. Aquarium thermometers are also usually pretty accurate and can be calibrated the same way.

Or you can go with the method in this article.

For this incubator, I checked the reviews and nearly all the ones with details seem to be kind of negative. A lot of people saying it comes with no instructions and missing parts. So it might work, but I'd buy it knowing you might have to send it back.

I use a mercury thermometer also. You can calibrate a hygrometer, here’s the destructions on that
