i was thinking about you, you have Emus right. I no a lot of people like Muscovy's they are not native here . i a lot of people don't like them.

Yep, I do. And yes on the muscovies - there are feral flocks of them in states like Florida now, so potentially they'd be considered 'harmful' and might be on the black list.

The problem is, if you have farm animals that aren't considered traditional, they might be on the black list. Emus might be. Pheasants might be. Ducks like mandarins or wood ducks might be, along with other commonly kept exotic ducks like teals, etc. And it's federal, so it means that if something might survive in, say, Florida, but never ever could here in Vermont where I live, too bad, have to abide by the rules that make sense for Florida.

Anyway, not a bad idea to email your Senator, for those of you in the States. That link I posted has a sample email you can send.
Here in Utah it's ok to have pheasant. My daughter and son used to breed them.

Yep, but that's the thing - they're legal here too, but say they end up on the black list for this bill. Then you're legally not allowed to ever, for any reason, take them across state lines. Want to sell them or their eggs to someone in another state? Nope. Need to see a vet for them but you live close to a state border and the only vet that will see them is across the border? Nope. Need to move to another state for any reason and want to take them with you? Nope.

i wanted to ask how is your goose doing . answer to your question yes . and to add insult to injury the avian flue is in Indiana a turkey farm. i wish i could get a big net cover my whole place lol.
Oh gosh, it was a turkey farm that almost caused a breach outbreak here in 2020. We had 2 different strains at once over afew farms, one being turkey and all had to be destroyed, plus any little flocks that had it, so what did the turkey place do? Jam afew healthy looking birds in a box and move them to their other farm 300km away. The result was all their birds dead, and huge fines, think even charged with something. We were so lucky they got it contained as fast as they did. Do they destroy the flocks infected there?
