Woah! - I hope you know what you're up to!?
=> I looked them up in the Germ,an and the English Wikpedia, this is a rare case where the German article is much more detailed that the English one:
The English article just explains the origin of the breed being from south-east Asia and that they've been created for cockfighting; plus some infos about how the western poultry associations recognize them.
The German Article is much more detailed, it explained that the Japanese name Shamo (軍鶏) means »Fighting Cock« and goes on with describing the breed as the »Premier Class« of poultry-keeping, because of their aggressiveness, combined with a high weight of up to 3Kg (over 6lbs!). The picture of a Shamo hen(?) reminds me more to a feathered dinosaur than a chicken:
No, Velociraptus Cluck is not my taste of chicken…
That is a really strange looking chicken!

All in the freezer…
But there is no visible difference between a yellow onion and a sweet-yellow onion. Both look like this:
Just the sweet variant has a sweet taste, that makes it the ideal companion to BBQ for example. And if you like pasta with tomato-sauce, frying a sweet onion instead of a simple yellow onion makes the tomato sauce sweeter and somehow increases the aroma of the tomatos. (Assuming that you don't just pop-open a can with industrial made tomato-sauce… 🤢)
Blasphemy, open a can of tomato sauce? If you don’t have fresh tomatoes, tomato paste with only ingredient tomatoes. Only way to go, use to only do that junk store bought prepared pasta sauce, man I can’t even stand it anymore, and all those extra what is that ingredients on the labels…

You're not living in the U.S. of A.?!?
Here you can buy instant pancake in a plastic bottle: Just add a cup of milk, shake it and pour it into the pan…
Most people here look at me like i am an alien when i tell them that i make pancakes from scratch… milk, flour, eggs, sugar, salt, butter a hand-mixer.
Its like with electricity: It comes from the wall-outlet…
And yes, i have cans with tomato-paste in my pantry! 😉

You're looking at the big guys there :) Those are either O shamos or Chu Shamos. Often just called Shamos here. There are bantam versions of those too, just called bantam Shamos.

Ko Shamos are different. They are a totally separate breed. They are true bantams; there are no large fowl counterparts to them.

They were never actually used for fighting. They are still oriental games, so they are feistier and more game than other breeds. Which is what I like about them. They have huge personalities in little bodies. They are not afraid of people at all, and don't back down from a challenge.

However they only weigh two pounds at most, lol. They are not aggressive to people and can be introduced to each other safely with some work. I've had them for several years now and adore them. They're my show chickens.

If you're interested I started a thread about the breed here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/the-ko-shamo-thread.1278977/

Now that said, Velociraptor IS my taste in chickens, lol, and I would own the Shamos in a heartbeat too if I had the space.

Yeah i know what you mean. It disgusts me seeing those plastic bottles of “pancake” mix. I have never got that stuff never will. I admit before I knew better I got the mix in the box, my other still does, under protest from me, as you said I have explained it isn’t like it is complex. Even buscits are so simple, literally only use 2 ingredients myself and they are awesome, and it is pennies on the dollar compared that stuff in the freezer or dairy isle lol. Also those packs of gravy roflmao. Pennies, literally pennies for what they charge $1 for basically lol

A very interesting breed indeed!

But not what i like to see from a chicken. Yes very cute, almost "dancing" around but that naked keel is pushing me off.
Similar to why i don't like Turkens:

Too much skin! I'm afraid of sunburn and/or frostbite.
That's also the reason why i have stayed away from Muscovy ducks for now…
I like to have some Sebright's but the wife disagrees because she thinks they're too noisy.
Love this breed because birds of both genders look equally beautiful, but they're also difficult and expensive to keep, the chicks need hatching-assistance and they're prone to diseases like Makre's. - Maybe when i'm retired…

I have to admit that i am using those sauce powders for the more complex sauces like Hollandaise or Alfredo which are somewhat critical to make from scratch.
But i am trying to get away from the sauces anyways: They just add a lot of useless calories to the meal and overpower the taste of the vegetables.

Well we don’t do hollandaisd, but do typically use something for Alfredo, however have made our own Alfredo sauce before, and did turn out pretty good, but it is a little more complex than brown gravy or white peppered gravy so that I can understand a bit for sure. But I really gave my SO a very hard time with the brown and white gravy. The brown does take a bit of learning to get figured out right and does take a little time extra to get it to be brown, but the white gravy…. Flour, butter, salt and peppery, you can or not use some milk or cream, but not expressly necessary imho, although I do believe it does make it slightly better, brown gravy, flour butter, salt pepper, butter and I usually use some Italian kind of seasonings to give it some extra oophm. Things most people should already have in the cabinet/fridge. I try to make most things we have from scratch, I find it better than anything pre packaged, healthier, and find it rewarding in itself being able to say I did that lol. I have not been able to make a bbq sauce I’m happy with yet, some decent attempts, so condiments are typically our weak spot. Although I am looking forward in learning to make our own mayonnaise using duck eggs I know it is made from chicken eggs, so hoping duck eggs will work for it, if all else fails got 24 chickens that majority should be hens also, so either way lol.
