Still without a solution for my berry-garden groundwater problem, i decided to go ahead with the veggie garden instead, so this is what i have planned for the tomato beds:
From the left to the right: A small path, then comes the tomato-bed itself, a one spade wide, one spade deep trench filled with compost soil, then a little levee made from loam out of the trench to retain water and finally the next path to walk in between the beds. The little levee will be shaded with the trellis for the tomato plants. Need to cut some young sycamore trees to build the support for the trellises.
