Happy Second Sunday to Everybody in the Land of the Free! 👍🏻
Happy Monday to everybody else! 🤣

Ideal planting weather here in WV, cloud-cover and 80% humidity. I can water and fertilize the garden with my own sweat in one pass… 😜
I still have some Kale/Cabbage - just brassica* to plant that i have re-grown from kitchen scraps and then there are the "wonder potatoes" that i have grown by just cutting away the eyes and eating the rest of the potatoes. And some more Tomatoes and Peppers, and… 🤯
This year is crazy!
Mr. PeaDuck is still around, he learned where the pellets are and stuck his head into the feeder yesterday. He sleeps on top of the duck-run and displays his beautiful tail feathers multiple times a day. And he seems to have started to molt, found one of his huge brown feathers in the yard yesterday.

After a long hot summer day i handed out a yummy mixture of Layer Pellets, Cracked Corn and Cat-Food and the whole bird family came together to eat:
While watching the brids and recording the video, I noticed how beautiful the feet of the two black ducklings are! One of them has completely yellow feet, it looks like its wearing shoes, the other one has a beautiful toe pattern.

And Happy Monday to you also!!! Our raised beds are doing well that my Hubby planted and we have tomatoes growing like crazy, He has already ate all of his kalarabi Spelled wrong and it was good, Taste somewhat like cabbage, you just eat it raw or at least that is what we did.

Beautiful Ducks. I have a duckling that has now feathered out but has the feet that looks like it has yellow orangish feet just like one of yours. It is Black and I believe a half Black Swedish Call Duck. It looked just like one of your ducklings with the two tone colored feet and was black. Is it a Black Swedish Duckling? I am still trying to determine what the sex of it is. What do you do if you have too many drakes. I loved this video, thanks so much for sharing!!!

Now we're talking

Wow, who laid it????
This is egg # 3, the first two were about half smaller and they also don't yet appear every day. Or maybe they do if we count yesterday and today as both being covered by this huge egg :)

They lay in their house, I leave them inside until about 7:30 AM (curfew is at 9:30 PM) so I'm not sure which one produced this super specimen. Junior is much too young but it could have been any of the five first-generation ducks who are now 5 months and a week old.

I'm noticing that their appetite is increasing, albeit selectively -- pellets are very much in demand; they did not care for soybeans and also not particularly for millet. Oats and corn still OK, buckwheat okayish.

As a kid, Kohlrabi was one of my favorite vegetables! It can be prepared in the same way as cauliflower, but is much easier to grow and harvest. Somehow this vegetable fell out of favour since my childhood and was replaced with broccoli. No clue why! Kids do not like to eat broccoli and they are correct.
