Well, these replacement runner eggs seem to all be duds. One started a little and then blood ringed. The rest, no life. Ugh. I have never had luck that bad with shipped eggs. Even if I didn't get any to hatch, which has only ever happened a few times, some at least usually start.

On the happier side, my malay eggs have shipped :) And I have another gosling hatching from the eggs I saved from the nest. It might be the last one because I candled the last egg tonight and it looked a little funky, but my flashlight was also dying so I'll look again.
I was curious if you had ever used the person that shipped your Runner eggs before? Sorry that they were no good again. That's not a very good advertisement for that person. I didn't know if they came from farther away from you with these eggs or just a unreliable seller.

So sweet!

It's normal for babies not to eat for the first day or two, and to lose a bit if weight from hatch. Now that he's eating, he'll put it back on.

As for the leg, it may just be that he's still getting used to not being in a cramped egg. Keep an eye on him (I'm sure you are, that duckling is now never leaving your side). Perhaps Mr. Limpy is his dad, lol!
Mr. Limpy? - Only if Buffzilla was able to use him as a Pool-Noodle…
:gig

You've said that earlier deliveries from this seller were just find in the past.
What happened? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Happy Third Monday to Everybody!

Buffzillitus tried scrambled egg this morning and liked it very much! Scrambled eggs with parsley, oregano and winter savory, no salt but a bit Chulula-sauce.
The little one is walking better every day, but still that left leg doesn't seem to be in the right position, i will wait for a bit longer and then may have to apply a hobble. The left leg is pointing a bit outwards, as if the tendons aren't not strong enough to keep it under the body.
Video and pictures later, the inside of the brooder - aka laundry basket, looks just terrible dirty and must be cleaned asap. At the moment we're both listening to the yearly HIPPAA and HITECH training. That will be a well educated duck! ;)
