Friends, we are completely heartbroken!
Our little bundle of joy died yesterday evening! 💔
We don't know why, the little one finally got it's act together, was happily chirping, eating, drinking and pooping the whole day. The weak leg was almost normal and the weight reached the 70 gram mark.
We both went outside to visit Viking and Violeta duck with her babies, then went into the garden to collect some dandelion for the grown-up's supper bowl. Buffzillitus was happily trailing me, investigating the spots where I had pulled out the dandelion plants but then suddenly fell on its back, peeped in distress and by the time I picked it up was cramping violently, dying in my hand in seconds. 😭
... need a break
So very sorry to hear this. I know how much you loved you baby. It hurts so much when we lose any of them but the babies are so precious to us. Please feel better soon my friend.

🤞🏻hope the power company will work on a Sunday!
Oh, the power company has nothing to do with this. My daughter's boyfriend, who just threw stuff together without protecting it from the weather is the culprit.

My friend should be here momentarily (with steaks for dinner!) to fix it for me.
Snail eggs? 🐌
BIG SNAILS!

Some places in America are having an extra long weekend and others are business as usual and only the 4th off. We went out of state to see a concert yesterday. Were stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours. Saw a Truck with Ontario tags, going at a crawl so when we got next to it I put my husband's window down as I was driving and he montioned for him to put his window down. I yelled "Happy Canada Day" to him and he said Thank you and the same to you!! It was cute because he figured the only way I would know that is if I were a fellow Canadian. Only Me, lol.
I should have taken Monday off, now i was assigned to a customer who was urinated off by one of my colleagues. You can't say rtfm! to your customer, even when you are correct...

Happy Sunday to Everybody! 😢

Nature goes on and shows no mercy! Yesterday Violeta Duck left her nest with three babies in tow, one of them entirely yellow. Today these four came outside again only to be attacked by the crows a few hours later...
The yellow baby is gone, one duckling fled with momma and the third one is sitting under my hand right now, very badly injured. It has a puncture wound on its back and two on its belly. It has lost a lot of blood and out of one of the punctures came yolk. 😱
Fortunately, with the use of triple antibiotics with and without painkillers i was able to stop the bleeding and the yolk leakage.
I let it drink sugar-water to replace the lost liquid and provide some easy accessible calories. I'm afraid to offer solid foot right now because i don't know about any internal injuries.
The plan is to keep the wounds covered in triple antibiotics, continue to provide liquid and keep the duckling warm and calm.
Any other advice? @Magnolia Ducks @Pyxis @shawluvsbirds
