just wondering why the bands. won’t they be showing the greenheads and/or curly tail feathers soon anyway?
oh and how many of each did you get?
i’m pretty sure my last two little ducklings here that are going to be four weeks old tomorrow are both drakes and I’m now trying to decide which pen they’re going to live in.
The rescue ducklings gender is no longer a secret: Two quackers and three peepers. The two white duckies are females and the one with the crest looks like a princess. - I would make pictures of them, but due to the heat they hide out in the weirdest places to stay cool.

I heart some quaxing from the seven ducknagers that Laura Duck has collected today and yesterday, but could not identify the quaxpects…

And - surprise, surprise: Sunny got spooked by something last night and insisted that she and her babies find refuge in my bedroom 🥴 and some of her ducklings, at 1½ weeks were honking in their sleep!

So at least not everybody turned into a drake here… 🤪

Do any of you have a spokes duck? So my now tiny flock have elected the little brown hen, not the gander as spoke duck. As soon as I arrive at the barn she begins quacking to be released. Then the geese start screeching. I let them out and everybody heads for the kiddie pool except spokes duck who heads straight to the feed room door and quacks at me until I fill the bowl.

Just one spokes-duck? … :th

Once again sad news from here:
I had to drive to the farm-store yesterday as we were out of cat-food and pellets and knew immediately that something was wrong when i came back.
Sunny was sitting with her ducklings on the porch and the rest of the flock was hiding in the house.
Three of Sunny's ducklings are missing and three of the rescue ducknagers, including the gray one that needed the vet-visit. 😡
The farm was unattended for just two hours…

Oh no! I hope they're hiding somewhere and will come wandering back.

That's it, time to start mail-ordering everything!
