Something I heard, and agree with, if you want to help those affected by the hurricane, the best thing to do is not to donate items but to donate money. Like that, they can purchase what is needed and have it brought in.

i think, send both.
if you have money, send it.
if you have goods, send them.
if you have both, send both.
just do the best you can with what you have.

So sorry to hear this Frank. They did the same thing at my Dad's company years ago. They would wait until a person was close to retiring and then they would let them go. He took early retirement at age 62 and then passed away 6 months later. My Mom got a tiny check for a few years and then they kept the rest he had paid in. He was a pressman and worked for them for over 40 years. Some companies just plain stink!!!!

It has nothing to do with my age or any medical condition. Somewhere in a windowless office in the second basement of a high rise building a nameless bean-counter created a filter like »Utilization < x%« and sent the resulting list to HR…
I have applied for new roles inside of the organization, so far no positive response.
Still waiting for a call from HR in regards of the time honored. They have already screwed up by reporting my seniority as 25 years in several systems.

Yes I am sure and this weekend I let them join the rest of the flock. Everyone is getting along fine after I let my 7 year old babysit them while I finished up working on their pens this weekend. They were all out in the grassy area and he gave the ones that thought about pecking on the littles heck. It worked out well as he sat with them for quite a while enjoying being a boss for once instead of being bossed, lol. They all have a several pens now that are regular poultry pens and lots of places they can get away from each other so it is working out well. I pray that your situation gets better soon Frank.

I’m so sorry this is happening. I went through this right as Covid hit, although it wasn’t Covid related. Good luck finding new employment!

Yesterday i realized that the CCI is made from Styrofoam!

And all efforts to protect that patio panel with chicken wire:

For sure it's worth exploring all the possible paths you have with the old employer, and the thing about a competitor sounds promising.
Gotta stay alive to fight another day -- get a lot of sleep, lots of water... maybe some herbal support - no, not necessarily that kind of herbal support, i was thinking about St John's wort
