I checked my one and it is still going strong. This is day 14 for it. I added the others later so I won't check them until this weekend. There's a good chance none will even be fertile but I was trying for it not to be a loner if it makes it. Good luck with yours.
I only ended up with two eggs being viable. The one ended up with an external pip on day 18 and never developed any further. The humidity being up and down must have caused it. I don't even know how it pipped as I checked it in the shell and it's beak was not near the pip hole. It was formed but still full of blood veins and egg sac that was over it in the shell. The other egg is in the beginning stages but will probably not make it either since my humidity in this cheap incubator is off so much no matter how hard I try. I am still leaving it though just to see. In the past I have gotten two ducklings that were able to hatch in it. I hope yours are still doing well.

I have thought about a dry hatch but my incubator gets down to 10 and I have read where it should not get lower than 15. Then when I add just a small amount of water it shoots up to 70 something. It's a non brand incubator but did hatch out two ducklings for me years ago. I really don't need any more ducks but love the babies and just thought I would try. Thanks for showing me this.

A Rouen color female. Decendant from my caugas. Something has murdered all my sis in laws ducks but this one so she brought her to my house so she wouldn't be all alone.
Pics later.. I'm on my way to my second job for today.
Sincere condolences to your sister! 😢
I cannot imagine what it feels to loose a whole flock… 😭

A Rouen Duck descendant from Cayuga ducks??

The Rouen was created by crossing the Mallard and Pekin together. That is where it gets its size from. Mine are a lot friendlier than my Mallards and have more of the Pekin personality. Never had any leg issues with them like the Pekin has and love their friendliness.

Yup.
Because my original standard size duck was a Rouen drake that we took in from some friends because his harem was murdered and they didnt want to get any more ducks. Naturally we HAD to get him some friends and that is how I wound up with my first cayugas. A local byc friend gave me two girls.
Annnd then... a few months later
some stray dogs or a fox (not sure which) killed him. 🤬
We incubated some eggs hoping some would be fertile and only one hatched. The drake we still have now so he is half Rouen and half cayuga. That is why he has orange legs and a lighter bill color.
