The Quack Shack

Kendra, how's the bumblefoot recovery going?
No progress, at least none that I can see. He has been like this for weeks i'm very surprised he isn't dead. I need to deal with the other boy who has bumble. I have a plan to deal with Olly today, hopefully it goes well, I'm going to cut into the foot again, a bit deeper if possible and grab any excess in the foot.

To be honest, the most annoying crower here are the Seramas. It's a very shrill sound that travels well.

Umbra sounds like a dinosaur with a very low grumbling sound.

Sully has what I'd call a traditional crow, very full bodied sound.

Ollie crowed yesterday while I was sitting 6 inches away. I about wet my pants it was so loud. I think he ate a dinosaur who ate a megaphone. It was low toned, full bodied, and very in your face. Well my face... ;)
My Cockerels are bantams, I was honestly expecting a loud crower from my red brahma mix, guess not. He is very good at crowing though, he has never been horrible at it, the first time I heard him.

Well we're all rooting for him. :fl:fl:fl
Is the other boys foot as bad?

Bumble is not on a big pain in the foot but a big pain in the butt. It can take a lot of determination and work to get rid of it.
How long can he go living with bumble.. I suspect he had it for months the way he can't even move it. Obviously I'm not gonna give up on him and let him suffer, but how long do you reckon he'd be able to go on like this..?

If it's into the joint or bone or blood stream I'd say super strong antibiotics are needed along with getting that infection out. You mentioned you have a vet close by might be a good idea to let them have a look. Sepsis is nothing you want to deal with on your own. I don't know if it's spread but just from what you've described it sounds like it may have. :( Don't give up though!

I'll call and ask how much for treatment, what type of antibiotics are needed, do I need to get it from a vet? His whole leg is swollen. I'm not gonna give up that easily, his life is worth fighting for I'd hate to see him die in pain. I'm gonna try and get it out today... hopefully cutting into the foot works this time, I'll call a the nearest vet.. about 15 minutes away thank goodness and see what they can do (If they could do anything) and the cost, cost matters for me. What is Sepsis, if you don't mind me asking?
