It seriously must be hawk day. I’m outside shoveling compost into my garden beds, so I let the chickens out for a bit since I’m literally right there. They weren’t out 5 minutes and a super spy hawk swoops down and grabs a baby silkie chick. I ran over there and threw my pitchfork near him. He took off and thankfully left the silkie unscathed. Back in the coop they go. That’s what I get for trying to let them free range for 2.5 seconds 😑.
good save I know the feeling. my chickens are not very happy about being cooped up for another day. at least it is cold and rainy out and they hate rain.

Just a recap...

What's everyones flock numbers looking like? And what are you hoping to add/subtract??

Currently my flock is 4 chickens (all hens), 2 ducks (drake and a hen), and 2 crazy geese (goose and gander).
Wouldn't mind adding a couple more pullets even though I'm overflowing with eggs as is. Waiting to see how the summer with my duck pair goes to see if I need to add more female ducks...so far so good though.
I have 15 chickens 2 of them are Roos. 2 KC girl duck. 17 geese to many lol.

Also...not sure how many of you keep up with the other social media platforms, i don't use any of them to be honest. Anyways...the "Dolly Parton Challenge" was trending on my Google feed and I couldn't resist 😂
