Very cool. I've got Lights, and they grew on me pretty fast. The oldest cockerel is 6 months old and almost the biggest chicken here. Very good disposition too.

If you ever fell like posting some if your project colors I'd love to see them.

Lights are gorgeous. A lot of them that aren't from show lines are lacking proper melanisation, so the males don't have the really nice black stripes in their saddle. Meanwhile, I added some new blood this fall that had the exact opposite going on. These guys were dark little things, I wish I'd taken a picture as chicks. But they're feathering out nicely, though with a bit too much in terms of black markings. They might molt out when they have their juvenile molt, though. And it's better they be over-melanized than under-melanized, anyway.

I'm only at the first cross in the projects so right now, they're black, lol. But, I'm shooting for Isabella and Coronation.

Ours are not show lines. Most of the cockerels saddle feathers are actually pretty white. They almost create a translucent look over the black feathers that are there.

Isabella would be pretty cool. What is Coronation look like?

The first chickens I ever got on purpose were a pair of light brahmas as chicks, from a feed store. So brahmas have a special place in my heart.

Coronation will be like Coronation sussex, only of course the lavender will also be in the rooster's saddle feathers, where the black is in a regular Light.
