That was a funny introduction and so cute!! Aren’t they tiny. I have tiny OEGB and the Serama are even smaller. Great pics! I can tell the math has really taken hold there.

I sure do have my seramas. I probably have close to 40 now. good thing they don’t take up much room. Those look lovely @Trimurtisan They are easy to fall in love with.

Very independent. They are good fliers too, but maybe not quite as good as the OEGBs. They are really friendly for most people, but mine are pretty skittish until they hatch a clutch of chicks. That’s when they seem to learn to trust me. My OEGBs were always more friendly

Yesterday I was working on the Serama coop's roof when a heavy rain storm came rolling in, so I just took them inside with me. The radar showed a good hour of rain, so I showered up.

While drying/dressing I just layed out a blanket for them to walk about on the floor. It wasn't good enough for them though...




When I say they like to be on top of me, I mean, really like it... This is only 5 minutes after the other pics and I had removed them twice before I could get my hat on. By the way, the net of the hat vastly improved his grip.

That's a towel rack behind me, not a pile of poop on my shoulder.

My oldest son has been with grandma for the last week and just met the chicks and ducklings yesterday. He was excited and instantly wanted to name EVERY birds in house. His favorite though, the Seramas.

All of our birds are special to us, but we took a family walk around the property with baby chickens on our shoulders. What's not to fall in love with?! You (or maybe just me) can't do that with a duckling. Heck the keets still act like I'm going to kill them, not the chicks though.

They're so curious!


36 years it took for me to notice how cool chickens can be.
At least it wasn't 56 years I guess.
