I love theses folks!
Not many people in this genre can actually play their music on hand instruments.

A few pictures of Ms Brown.

So, Ms Brown is still managing to get past the fence and in to the front yard, a lot. I've triple double dawg checked that there is nothing for her to climn over which was the problem after clipping her wings. Now there is nothing for her to use to get over the fence... How high can a chicken jump? Can they clear a 4' fence?

This brings up something I would like some opinions on. Ms Brown, really likes it up front with the bantams. Does anyone see any problems with just letting her hang out with them? She came over this morning while I was working out there and came right up to me. I picked her up, gave her a pet and put her back. She was back in less than 10 minutes. I had limited time, so I just let her hang out for about an hour. She stayed around the fountain dish, and just scratched around, drank some water. Ya know, chicken things...

I've tried to stand in the back and watch and see how she gets out, but if I am back there she stays pretty close to me.
She likes me! :love

So, it's got me wondering how big of a problem I might create by letting her just hang out. Should I try and break the habit now? Is it a problem? Is it okay? What are your thoughts?

Okay, so for the caged coop, I am working on making a from door/wall for their living section. I took 9' of the 1x6 and stripped it down in to 1x1x32 inch pieces. The idea is to layer 1x1s in descending lengths, drill pilot holes, and screw them together. I need to think of a way to make it removable to I can clean it out and collect eggs when that time comes. I've got 2/3 of the strips measured out, Jonah woke up and I was done for the day.

I also attempted to make a roost bar for the younger birds in there. They have been roosting on the freaking food trough. That's like the least secure place for the to sleep!

Measure twice and cut once... Not this time! I just went on the basic measurements I took 5 hours prior... So it didn't fit. OOPS!

I don't think there would be anything wrong with letting her hang out with the bantams.
My chickens also don't seem to have any problems getting over 4' fences with clipped wings. :barnie

I've been trying to figure out what I would get by crossing the BB Marans cockerel to the BC Marans pullet. If my "code" research is correct, these would be the potential results.
https://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html?mgt=E:E^R/E^R,S:S/(S)&fgt=E:E^R/E^R,Mh:Mh/Mh

This would be the BBM x 55 Flowery pullet, though, finding the 55F code was not all that easy.
https://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html?mgt=E:E/E,Mo:mo/mo,S:S/(S)&fgt=E:E^Wh/E^Wh,Co:Co/Co

BBM x Barred Rock...
https://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html?mgt=E:E/E,Mo:mo/mo,S:S/(S)&fgt=E:E^Wh/E^Wh,Co:Co/Co

Both the BR and 55F seem to make sex linked offspring, assuming the codes for both parents are correct. The 55F says it has a Blue Barred Birchen. Sounds pretty neat!
