Leave them penned so mama can introduce them through the fencing then with supervision let the door open an see how it goes most birds will not want to tangle with a mama an chicks. As long as she isn’t with LF she should be fine after a week of intros through the fence.

Well momma lost interest in the egg. I picked it up and it was chilled and quiet. I saw where the external pip started, and chipped away some shell, the chick is shrunk wrapped. Beak is exposed, I clutched it for about 2 minutes and it started to chirp and move again. That sent mom in a mini frenzy and she let me put it back under her.

I just checked again, and she moved w/o the egg. It's still alive but looks like it's been pecked at.

I put it back under her. If she rejects it again, should I try putting it in the incubator?

Okay, I'm following along now. Thanks Patti.

Yes if still alive give it a chance. Maybe she was trying to help it. Just hard to know I’d keep a close eye on it all. Like my Muscovy trying to help out her Runner duckling by stamping on the egg but she stomped it to death since she had moved the shavings out of the way :(

Also, the black chick is not an AC chick. There was 2 bantam and 1 LF egg. The last chick is also black, so I'm guessing the blonde chick is indeed a 55F x Marans. It has a small dot on its head to leading me to believe it's a male being the 55F carries the barred gene and hens can only pass it on to their sons.

Not the best picture of its head, but the dot is pretty noticeable to the naked eye.

Do you think it would be a good idea to raise the humidity in the incubator? It's around 50% at the moment. I doubt a few hour spike in humidity this early in the cycle would hurt the current eggs.
Chris bumping the humidity to 65% won't hurt the other eggs now. You won't need it there long. If the chick is shrink wrapped you'll want to apply coconut oil to the membrane. You may have to assist in the hatch, but it looks like there are still quite a few blood vessels there. If you do be very very careful.
