Lol, it's too thick back there for gators. There's only a couple small places it opens up like that. Most of the area is covered in trees & cypress knees. In regards to snakes, it's only slightly higher chance of them meeting one there vs the yard. That's only 3' behind my yard. It does concern me a bit, but I've only seen 1 snake since we moved in.
 
About a month she was good as new. I put blue kote on her head before I put her back out so no one would mess with her. The rooster went to freezer camp.
That doesn’t mean feathers were all grown back but she was healed enough I felt good about her being back in the coop. Hers was really nasty too.

I wish I knew who did it, they'd go to freezer camp too. I suspect it was either the cuckoo Marans or my recently unruly Tom. Both would make a wonderful soup stock.

When you put Ebby back with the others, did you need to reintegrate her over time?
