 you need licences for all of that here. Theres reptile, amphibian, exotic, and emus have their own special licence. We jist fed the lizards and parrots in mums garden and they would return every year. Parakeets there are what we call budgies here. Our parakeets are completely different, red faced birds but the same size. But budgie/parakeets are the best pets!!!

I can’t imagine needing to get a license for them!! So wait do you need a license for the small furry animals I listed too? Or just the reptiles/amphibians? Hamsters? Gerbils?

I can’t imagine not being able to just walk into a pet store and buy whatever you want haha

@shawluvsbirds has more Cayuga experience than I do :) But I'd say they're decent layers.
Pretty good layers in my opinion! I get an egg every day for most of the year. They take a short break when they molt usually and over the winter when the days are shorter.
They start out very black and fade to creamy white over the course of a few days. I've heard the more pure bred they are they stay black longer. It is just the outer bloom that is black, you can scratch it off with your fingernail. So I am guessing all of them would fade over time as the bloom is usually thicker when they first start laying for the season.

I just saw PETA say we should stop calling our pets pets!
Those human excrement receptacles can go choke on a bag of dirty carcasses. Considering how many animals they euthanize, they should have plenty on hand to start choking down. Sorry if that offends anyone, but PETA offends me. Slack jaw whack jobs the bunch of'em.

I'm all for fair treatment of animals, but I'm not going to deny I do enjoy eating meat. I enjoy raising animals. I enjoy the companionship from the animals. I know for a fact the animals I have and will harvest are given abetter life than commercially raised animals. I do not enjoy killing animals but I do my best to use every part. I respect the animal after death as I did during life. I actually find it emotionally draining to kill an animal for any reason, but death is as much as a part of life as living is.
