Opossums can get pretty big the adults.

What is this? Any ideas? I was running through the cameras a little bit ago and saw this dude skulking around behind the coop (aka The Gettin' Killed Spot.) He 100% can't get in, but I can't figure out what it is. Too big to be a possum? Doesn't look like it has a tail but I can't really tell for sure. Maybe a raccoon?

Kinda looks more like a opossum to me
It looks like there is a tail to me, just curled in front of the body. This is the 3rd image, tail in green, pointy end being the tip.It does. And I've seen some huge opossum too. But you'd still think you'd see a tail.
Maybe a tail less opossum. Lol
A large opossum might be a little shorter than your young cats I met, but have much more girth. They will generally run as they are not that confrontational. I wouldn't corner one though as if it does get defensive it can be pretty nasty. Generally though they want to get away from you. I hear they love chicken though.I was thinking opossum too, but I looked up pictures and thought it looked too big. I've never seen one in person, though, so maybe. For a second I thought it was one of our barn cats, but it came from the woods. My husband and son went out to see what it was - it ran and definitely was not our cat. We have big gopher turtle holes that I think random animals live in, so it would be anything, really.
