Mornin everyone!
I went to collect some eggs from @cra8ychix last night. I'll be hatching 13 Houdan eggs for her. About 2 weeks ago I found an auction for eggs and she had been looking for the breed for a while by then. As of today of today I'l have all 3 of the incubators running.

I wasn't done with that post durn it!

I hung out there for a couple of hours. I don't think I mentioned, but @cra8ychix is the friend of the dog trainer. Now I know y'all probably think I've just been obsessing over a dog, and your right, but I'm not doing it alone. She is helping guide me to a good quality, well fit decision.

I kind of forgot we are fostering a big dog the month of March, so I've put all plans on hold. I'm now considering just getting a puppy vs a "pre damaged goods" and putting in the extra work for the extra reward.

I've also changed my mind on the breed. A hound, though I still think can work, would be scratching my own itch. I've decided to look for Great Dane or Mastiff pups. Those too are some of my favorites, but would fit the purpose much better.

Before anyone tells me how big they are or how much it cost to maintain them, I know. I know it's a challenge. If y'all knew me before getting Loki, you'd never of thought I'd have a tiny dog. People thought I was joking when I sent pictures of a 4# pup. I'm a big dog lover.

So I've got an extra ~6 weeks to plan and decide. With Bella coming to stay with us, it'll also give Mary an idea what it's like to live with a big dog. I think the only experience she's had was the failed TWC experience. Mary, well she hated that hound, and I think Marley hated her too. (shh, Marley loved me)

Well at this time I've got 4 hatch dates set. Roughly in 9 days, 17 days, 21 days and 28 days (quack) from today.
The first 2 batches are only 9 eggs total though. I decided not to fill the incubator.

Nothing hatching here. One of my Buffs laid an egg so now I might get 4 eggs a day but for the most part none of my others even the chickens are laying. I have to save a few back for brownies again! Is that Soggy Bottoms named after Jonah? I have tacky acres you have Soggy Bottoms!
