Fraggles our runner hen is laying pretty consistently so, just gives us a good excuse to hatch another batch 👍😂
No joke, I've thought about doing the same thing. Hatching is neat and I could have an incubator constantly running. I just need to find people to let me hatch for them. ;)

Well it looks like I've got some catching up to do. In the mean time, I got a few Malay chicks over night! Still not sure if these is they are pure, but they do look like asiatic fowl chicks to me. What do you think @Pyxis?

Yep, I'm seeing that Oriental Game look about them :) Couldn't say if they're pure, but they do look to have the correct heritage behind them.

The 4th egg has been quiet. Hopefully it didn't stall out. I've already offered up any extra cocks. I only want 1 if any. Still not sure about it yet... After the troubles and money I've went throughftrying to get oriental game, I'd be okay with just a pair to enjoy for myself. The want to breed them is pretty much gone.

Morning...errr... afternoon all!

So... there's a possum living under my chicken coop. 😒😩

We moved the Gettin' Killed Spot camera angle so I could see the bottom of the coop. There's always dig marks in the corner, so I could never figure out what was making them. My serama hatched out two out of the three eggs she had been sitting on. The other clearly was a late term quitter (which I HATE, it was a beautiful chick. ) so I left the egg in view of the camera as "bait" to try and lure whatever was digging that hole.

At around 8pm last night the suspect was caught. But what I didn't expect was that he came FROM under the chicken coop and then went BACK under there after getting the egg. Do you think he's still under there?? I'm slightly terrified to look. 😂

@Tooshay we have a gettin killed spot too!! Two chicks have died in that corner or at least one chick did and then another just got taken but no body but they got in from that corner. So yeah, it’s the weak spot. Working on securing it this weekend but still have absolutely no clue what it was. Thinking a different predator both times but

How’s he get an egg? And yes probably sleeping under there.

I put the egg there to try and lure whatever critter was making the hole so I could figure out what it was and how to fix the issue. The possum can't get in the coop, but I still don't want him living under there in case there's ever a weak spot.
