I used to always say age was a figment of your mind. Then today I held the door open for 2 young girls (16-19) and was called Sir. Never thought that'd bother me, but it made me want to close the door on her big toe and remind her to respect her elders.

I'm in no rush for grand babies, but I do love watching my boys with their grandparents. It's a totally different bond. One that can be a pain in the butt at times, (yes mom, I'm talking about you), but special never the less.
:gig So funny on both counts :lau
Ok I cleaned this yesterday. It's green season here. See the little cat prints? @WannaBeHillBilly you remember green season?View attachment 2050805
I was in San Antonio Feb - April a long long time ago and I still remember it. Now imagine keeping a WWII barracks clean during that time. :th

So do you end up keeping the chicks you bring home to recover?

Sometimes :) Often I just save them and then send them on to another home, since, I hate to say it, hatchery chicks just don't really do it for me anymore.

But bantams are often the exception. If these little ones are hens, likely I'll keep them and give them to a ko shamo cock. That would make for some interesting crosses!

It's funny because we were just talking about Sultans the other day and how I liked them and now I have two again. Not great stock, but still. Haha.
