That chick is adorable! Are they looking after you better at work now?

Sort of. They finally did tape the floor at the registers in six foot increments. A law was passed saying big stores here can only sell essentials and everything else has to be roped off so I was hoping that was going to happen to cut down on people browsing, but that didn't happen because the manager says we are exempt somehow? I dunno.

And instead of just going to all curbside, they've decided to create a new position that for eight hours each day someone has to stand by the door and basically just yell at customers about Covid, is how it sounds to me. Tell them to distance and whatnot.

Or they could have just gone Curbside only. But apparently having someone stand in the door and lecture people is better.

Sounds like their eyes are on the $$. All our rural supply stores went to drive through pickup, the one with the petshop you can even ring up ahead and buy your goldfish and parrots over the phone and they'll have them packed up ready to bring out to the car. Although.... yelling at the customers like a crazy person may keep them from entering the store....

It's definitely Large Fowl and not a bantam. Silkie cross was my first thought as well, but then it should be muffed, since that's a dominant gene. I wonder if it's some sort of new hybrid they've been working on.

More likely just a 'whoops' breeding though, haha.
Oh wow that is really strange!! Are there other breeds that carry the 5 toes and black skin? Does it have truly black skin or just dark legs? This is such a mystery haha

Looks to be black-skinned. Other breeds do have five toes and feathered legs, but not the black skin. It really is a little mystery; that's why I couldn't resist taking one home, haha.

Hmmm... interesting.... maybe one of the parents was a poorly bred Silkie that didn’t have a muff?? Hence why this little one doesn’t? 🤔

It’s so adorable though!!!

That is a cute chick!

Hi everyone, sorry to be a stranger for so long. Life has been a little crazy around here. However, the sun is shining, the winter vegetables are germinating, and we have some pretty little ducklings in the yard. I hope you're all safe and well, and able to follow precautions to avoid Covid.

Mornin everyone!
