Good evening folks :frow

Today was a good day. Sue was awake and alert when I arrived. She took about an hour nap and then spent the rest of the day awake, alert and talkative. She will no longer allow me to hold her cup for her to drink, she'll hold it and manages it well. She still has her headache but she seems to be getting used to it and it not bothering her so much. She's regained full movement of her right arm and there's no droop to her face.

They did restart formula feeding her as she's not eating enough, but she's doing better every day and we're working with the kitchen so they don't send things she won't eat. She's terrified of choking so she chews everything forever. It takes about an hour and a half for her to eat a meal.

I think tomorrow, I'll push the tray over and see if she's comfortable feeding herself. Her since of humor and sarcasm are fully in tact.

That’s an awesome update Bob and funny she has gotten her sense of humor an sarcasm back! Are you still a pain in the butt? ;)
Yep. And I think tomorrow I'll put the tray in place and see if she's comfortable feeding herself. I've asked the nurses to do that tonight for dinner but stay with her just to be sure she doesn't choke. She want's to be more independent and she's fighting for her own sense of self capability. It's challenging with all the lines and tubes, but she's learning to manage them.

That said, something as simple as a burp or hiccup is really painful for her right now.

Good morning folks :frow

Wow that’s not good do you mean a burp or hiccup makes her head hurt? Do they know why she’s still having bad headaches?
Unfortunately, bad headaches are a side effect of the healing process. She's also having mini strokes as a result of the blood in the cerebral fluid. The blood irritates the arteries and they constrict.

Do you think it's weird that this guy took my pictures of questionable ducks and put them up on his page as a success story? I wouldn't necessarily call it that, but alrighty...

Well, your ducks ARE really pretty. I guess that guy is just happy that someone got back to him with photos.
