That’s. Grey squirrel. They are edible and I will shoot a few a year because they get to be like rats and over populate, Plus my farm is too close to the cities. So all the well meaning, not so bright citiots live trap their excess squirrels and bring them to the country to let them live free.

I was going to start live trapping them and take them to the city to release them, but I hate the cities too much to suffer going there.

I know not all city people are citiots but those I meet seem to be. As a example I had a car pull in one night a person got out and ran behind a wooden fence I have up to keep garbage cans behind.



I ran out there to see what was going on. There was a woman squaring down with her pants dropped doing a nature call. I was literally P’d off. I shined the light on her and asked her what she was doing, she said she needed to go to bathroom. Duh..

Then she asked me to stop shining the light on her, which enflamed me even more, so I told her “nope, you piss in my yard and you are going to suffer the indignity of me seeing your stuff, but to be fair, if I ever stop in your yard to take a wee or dump feel free to shine a light on my junk”

Yep, I was not being very Christian, but there are miles of roads with trees behind them. Why pull into my yard to pee?

During deer season nothing gets shot but a deer, I don’t want to scare a deer away, if I ever see one.


You live below a mountain? I looked up the latitude of Adelaide the other day to try and get the feel of the climate there. It is on same latitude as Atlanta, I assume your weather is hot hardly ever snows and never stays on the ground, freezes a few times a year. Am I close to correct?

Adelaide is in south Australia and 1145km away. But it can get very hot there and I don't think they get any snow. Never usually falls below 500m here. Theres a place over there called Cober Pedy that is so hot people live in the ground in what they call dug outs. Pubs, churches schools, everythings under ground. Why would people want to live there? Considered to be the opal capital of the world! Whats more is when you want to add rooms to your houses, you just dig them out and generally the opal you find will pay for it. The best story I heard was a bloke whose wife was asking him to put an extra step in for when her mother visited. He wasn't going to. But he finally did and found a $4million dollar opal in it. We are considered out west NSW. Will send you latitude. Staying in a beautiful town called Orange which is full of vineyards and start of our stone fruit orchards. Mount Canobolas is its highest point, 1395m and town itself about 863m.
