That's a mess of ducks you got there @WannaBeHillBilly.
So pretty too.

Should be directions on the packaging your turkey came in on how to cook.
You have no idea, it became even messier this afternoon!
I am still not done with my porch, the lee-side wall is still open and while i was working on that in the afternoon a sudden roar filled the air!
A large flock of Mallard ducks touched down and started to raid the cracked-corn feeder. That were way more than twenty birds and they were hungrier than a pack of wolfs in Siberia during the depth of winter. Like small, tiny Mallards toppling a five pound feeder full of cracked corn?!
It seems all the remaining Mallards in the area have gathered here this afternoon.

The instructions on the front side say »Simply Thaw & Cook« - so i was in doubt.
But after removing the plastic mesh more instructions became readable (see next post).

Brine that bird. I jerk mine but a good way to cook after brining is to spatchcock it. That way it cooks faster and stays moist.
Thank you very much for the answers! - The bird is already pre-brined. Not sure if that is enough though…

And yes, there were detailed instructions on the back-side of the package on how to thaw a turkey and how to cook it, i could read them after removing the plastic mesh:

My plan is not to butterfly it, but to stuff the whole body cavity with all kinds of vegetables, peppers, onions, garlic, potatoes, leeks, maybe an apple or two - and then cook it in that roasting pan for 2.5 to 3 hours as per instructions. I will pour some chicken broth into the pan and cover it with a foil pan to prevent drying out and repeatedly pouring the broth and the fat all over the bird. Once it is fully cooked, i will remove aluminium-pan and the turn on the grill-snake in the oven to create a nice crust. 😋

Now i'm hungry… 🤤

Ok, I admit I have problem. I just hatched 4 little ducklings. One grey bibbed, one mallard coloured, one brown ring neck and one white. These are 6 generation in my "breeding program" the white one is crested. How did that hapen.
You can't just say this and not show us pics.

As for the Crested, is there any way another duck snuck in there? Just snickering as she drops her illegitimated child in with the 'pampered few'?

Seriously, with Crested being an Incomplete Dominant, I have no clue!!!

Well I had a crested drake for a while 3 years ago but all his progeny were killed in the dog attack. The only ducks I had left couldn't be any kin to him. I did start with Ideal stock which I know carry the crested gene. But I've since added Metzer plus some KC and some local pekin mix. Here are pictures. I'm A bad picture taker.
