In my parent's garden we had two Morello cherry-trees. They both produced so much fruit that my dad had to build support struts for them that we used year after year after year.
I tried repeatedly to plant cherry-trees without success. Neighbors are telling me that here in the U.S.A. there is a fungus that kills cherry-trees and their relatives very quickly. Which is the reason why cherries and all cherry products are expensive. I have not given up on cherries yet, i will continue to try growing trees from cherry-pits and wasting money on store-bought trees until one day i will find a fungus resistant one.
