I absolutely want to believe it's a 4-legged problem... Not very welcome but better than a 2-legged one. I just don't understand how an animal would have decided to leave 5 fat ducks sitting there untouched.

There is now a metal bit that slides in after the door has been closed and prevents it from reopening - not exactly a bolt because didn't have any lying around, so I just drilled a vertical hole in the wood block that serves as the threshold and dropped the pin in. And added 3 more points where the door is tied to the house frame with wire after closing.

We don't have raccoons - we do have foxes, weasels, polecats (I hope that's the correct term) and potentially jackals, presumably they have been slowly getting comfortable in Slovenia and have reached our part of it - https://www.rtvslo.si/news-in-engli...-mysterious-animal-of-slovenia-s-woods/418651
You don'thave foxes??

Raccoons, you wanted it, so war it is, trash-pandas!

In the late afternoon i figured out that the two dumpster-divers i watched this morning broke into my screened porch and gorged themselves on the Georgia Sweet-Onions i have planted into a large planter on my porch. They ate almost all of them and as icing on the cake they both left a huge pile of stinky 💩 in the planter, ruining everything.

Never come between me and my Georgia Sweet-Onions!

The trap will be baited tomorrow and the scope on my air-rifle will be calibrated.

In the mean time, i made some orange cracked-corn:

As you can imagine from the tiny little bags around the container, from where that cracked corn gets its colour… The stuff in those black packets made me cough.

At first the ducks didn't liked it, i assume because of the intense vinegar smell, but after evaporating the vinegar in the dehydrator, they loved it even more than yellow cracked corn. I tried it too and could taste a nice tomato flavor before my tongue fell off. Birds don't taste capsaicin, only mammals do. Ducks are obviously birds:

What kind of animal are garbage-pandas? 😁

And those dang Mallards! - Again they have not cleaned their dinner plate…

And i am sooou clumsy! - Dropped an open package of diabolo sauce into the only water pan outside…

Do what you're good at is what I say. If you're a top procrastrinator, that's nothing to sneeze at. My superpower is sleeping :)

Mine is procrastinating going to bed and ending up not sleeping enough! :lau
You know what's even more efficient than procratinating?

Breaking your tool! - Mowed the area between the porch and the veggie garden causing some very excited bees (!) and some happy ducks:

Then i continued to mow the paths in the veggie garden:

And then when i just wanted to start mowing around the shrubs and dwarf-trees in the berry-garden the trimmer-line snapped. And i have none in stock! Not an inch! Too bad! 😉

Instead i planted the last 12 tomatoes in the garden, i have just around 120 left in small pots...

I notice you have a lot of plantain (Platango sp.) growing around your place. Did you know that not only is it edible, it is one of the most medicinally beneficial plants out there? I'm about to make some plantain salve to help with the itch of insect bites. But it doesn't have to be in that form for it, you can just apply some chewed up leaves to the bite for relief.

We do, like I wrote, we just don't have raccoons... Or I thought that we didn't, @WannaBeHillBilly is suggesting otherwise and he may be right. Which is troublesome. Because in my view a raccoon is more stealthy and more dexterous than a drunk village boy causing trouble on a dare, and probably also more than a sober one.
