So sorry. I lost a goose yesterday. Its so hard but part of being a bird parent. We try so hard to keep them safe but poop happens.

So sorry for your loss. It's so hard to let go of them when things do happen.

Oh, the power company has nothing to do with this. My daughter's boyfriend, who just threw stuff together without protecting it from the weather is the culprit.

My friend should be here momentarily (with steaks for dinner!) to fix it for me.

Probably a bobcat. 4 geese went out but only 3 came back. They were still downy and I shouldn't have let them out. They are imprinted on me and follow me everywhere. I just left them for a little bit and Jumper was gone. Hope you duckling gets better.

Update on the injured duckling: It has stopped drinking, has not eaten and has curled up in my hand like in an eggshell… I'm afraid this is the crisis moment…

I'm glad that we don't have bobcats here in the area, the 'coons are bad enough.
Duckling is still alive and has curled up into my hand like its back in the egg. kicking really strong, which i hope i a good sign. We were briefly outside to do some duck duty - no egg collection today, but cleaning the waterers and the supper bowl - anyways hearing and seeing the other ducks seem to have encouraged the little fluff-ball a bit.

Snail eggs?

Possibly snake eggs???? I would google what each looks like if I were you to identify them. My turtle eggs were about the size of a round quarter.
