Also, if you have an egg puncher, this works on fresh eggs.I eat a boiled duck-egg almost every morning!
They have a saying here: »A Duck-Egg a Day keeps the Doctor away!«
So far that worked well.
And rarely it is difficult to peel the eggs. I let the egg sit for at least a week, boil them with an egg-boiler (these little plastic thingys that use steam to boil the eggs) and the dump them into ice water. That separates the cooked egg from the membrane and makes peeling easy.
Wait till you get a three stack.Yes, that sounds legit since I've often noticed the action during the day, both in (or half-in) pools / basins and also on dry land (rarely but it does happen). I'm not seeing a single dominant duck, it seems kinda random, but that could be just me not yet being able to tell most them apart with certainty.
It's a fact that today, as soon as limpy duck was let out of the crate and into the pool, she immediately stretched out her neck for the other already present duck... So it's like I said at the beginning of the story with Junior, in our second purchase we got a baby and two floozies
Regarding those boiled eggs, I'm familiar with the benefit of letting eggs lay around for a number of days so they are easier to peel but we just don't have that level of production yet. We're moving in the right direction though. Not in a straight line but we'll get there.
The duckling box cannot be made predator-proof, even a raccoon could tear it apart...How adorable! So, you give them Gummy Bears to make them sweet?
Perhaps make their night pen raccoon proof? Double-walled, bolted down? Or at least weighed down? And keep the cat food inside.
And no, the gummy bears were for our nerves! How adorable! So, you give them Gummy Bears to make them sweet?

ABSOLUTELY AGREE!Awwww! I love the frantic pitter-patter of their little feet on the floor!![]()
I do have an egg puncher, but if the eggs are at least one week dried out, they peel easier. Also, if you have an egg puncher, this works on fresh eggs.
Or an inverse pyramid! (two drakes on top of one duck...)Wait till you get a three stack.
