Hi guys. Some non poop talk. Not that I can't keep up my share of poop talk. Up early making cevieche for lunch. Fish , shrimp and crab.. Last of the garden tomatoes. I have sooo many figs. I have some in the dehydrator. I'm making fig ice cream today and determining what neighbors like figs. I'm getting 2 lbs or 1 kilo a day. Its a fig disaster. But it only lasts a few weeks and they don't last long. Need to figure out how to make fig newtons.

Make date bars but with figs! YUM!

Hmmm. Good idea. I have lots of fig jam to give away for the holidays. The purple fig tree is done. I messed around so long I had to throw out two kilos of purple figs that went bad. I have three trays if green figs in the dehydrator. Two 18s in the fridge and no telling how many ill get today. Doesn't quite make up for no citrus this year but at least somethings producing this year.

When my Mom was on heart medication black licorice was on the list of things she could not have. Funny how red is fine to eat but not the black. I never liked the black but always liked the red so I guess I was lucky in that aspect. My weakness is just sugary treats. I crave sugar but drink only diet pop. I guess I have to cut back somewhere, lol.
Thing is, that "red licorice" does not contain anything from the licorice plant, therefore it is forbidden to call it »licorice« in Europe. It is just a sugary treat…
Personally, I looove the characteristic taste of the licorice plant roots, i have eaten it since my early childhood.
