And yes, i built a ramp from the heaven's (Duckling's Paradise) down to earth, started with the frame on Thursday:

And finished it today (Friday) in the evening:

It even has a little reiling

And it is set at a duckling friendly slope of just 20°:

Tomorrow i will set up some fencing and open the paradise's gate…

Happy Weekend to Everybody!

I still have all the empty eggs-shells of my babies lying in front of my Cheap Chinese Incubator ($2.15 per duckling!). I can't believe that they have all been small enough to fit in a tiny egg. The largest ducknager is approaching one Kilogram and stretches from my lap to my shoulder (if he is not trying to rip my earlobes off).

I have also harvested the weirdest cucumbers i have ever seen:

I have not planted these! - Ducks⁉
.
.
.
Yes, of coures i know! - Butternut Squash. But for what are these being used? Hints? Suggestions? Recipes?
And who the Duck planted these? - I have planted Zucchini Squash, green and yellow. 😵
Bees cross pollinated maybe?

Sorry for my absence, out of the blue all of my three current customer's required baby-sitting at once this week… Plus the ducklings and ducknagers have outgrown their baby-feeder and -waterer 👍🏻 Which also means more poop and mess 👎🏻

And harvest season has started with a tomatonami - the ducks love it!
And once again, the ducks have planted the better tomato-plants, have you ever seen a striped tomato?

I need to check the ground cherries that grow wild all over the place here. Never got any last year because the ducks got them first! But they spread the seed and now they're popping up (pooping up?) all over the property. They're related to tomatillos, and perfectly edible. Just much, much smaller!

Whenever i wasn't busy with my customers, i decided to sit down with the ducklings and ducknagers, here are they, sitting in the door to the living-room, asking »ya brought meal-worms? - If not get lost...«

Here is duckling #12 sitting in my lap, stuffing itself with meal-worms, it still has some serious growing to do:

Here's two cuties, asking for some more meal-worms:

And here is Sunny duckling, trying to eat my foot:

They are all soooooo pretty!!!!

Mr. Peaduck is still around and i am thinking about where to keep him over the winter. He goes into the duck-run to eat layer-pellets and he loves to roost on the interior ½wall inside of the duck-house. - Have mercy with the poor raccoon who tries to sneak into the duck-house to steal eggs! Mr. Peaduck killed an Opossum that strayed too close to a sitting duck…
That is great that Mr. Peaduck can protect your flock like that. Opossums and Racoon's are terrible predators so you are fortunate to have him. I bet he will be fine in the duck house this winter as long as there is enough room for him and the ducks too. He sure has been an asset to your flock.

Ground Cherries?! - Never heart that before. We had them back at my parents and called them lampion flowers. I didn't know that their fruits were edible.

Is it this plant you're referring to?
Now I am tempted to grow them here too as food source for the birds (ducks) and the bees...
