Thank the Good Lord you made it home safe. We haven't had any more snow [yet] they are still calling for UP to 4"or more depending on where you are in these mountains but what we got the other day is now ice. Thank goodness for ice cleats. Wind chills 15-20 below sure doesn't sound like a fun outdoor weekend.
Thank you for your concerns my friend. I pray that you stay safe with all of that ice. I am charging up my leaf blower to see if I can move any of the snow with it. It might be easier than shoveling. If that doesn't work I might just make tracks in it with the car. I usually wait until around 10 to do duck chores. I can hardly wait to do that either, lol. I am glad that you have your ice cleats. Luckily ours is all snow so far but it is still coming down. I am so glad that they cancelled because the roads are not getting any better, only worse and we have accidents on our freeways.

Not a lot of snow but not nothing. Temps just around freezing point.

Are you talking about your propane heater that stopped working? - Propane bottles can literally freeze in cold temperatures.
Man, running those electric heaters is expensive! - You need a woody for next winter.

Yes, the main propane furnace for the trailer. It wasn't that cold out, but come to think of it it quite after I switched over to a new canister... 🤔 I wonder if maybe it's 'bad propane'?

And yes, I desperately need a small wood stove! It just isn't in the budget right now. Well, nothing is in the budget right now! I hope my application for disability benefits goes through soon... It'll give me a little bit of extra wiggle room.

Upon further relization, I don't think that's it because my entire HVAC system is shut down. The fan won't even turn on. So...

I checked and reset all the breakers. I looked outside for any blockages (none). I just don't know what it is and I'm not digging through all that snow in this frigid weather. Just hoping that the power behaves. Or else it will be a mass migration of me, three cats, and a large dog into my daughter's house. With her three cats and large dog. And small child.

Do you ever have any that try to fly off?? My one is just now showing me that he can fly but he has not tried to leave and some of my others that are not pinioned are also flying a good 4 foot off of the ground. The fence is 6 foot high though and so far they don't mind their boundaries and all of my flock stays together. I only have the 2 Calls and the rest are a variety.
No flying away on purpouse.. but i did have to clip wings because some of them would get over the fence on accident then they were over there freaking out as if they couldn't figure out how that happened and just fly back over.
One day i was inside when a couple of them got on the wrong side of the fence.
I wondered why the rest of them kept coming up pecking on the door 🤣

I kid you not. That really happened.

My one Muscovy that I got at 3 months that I could not pinion just showed me that she could fly as high as my house which is way higher than the pen. Luckily she flew towards the house and back down and then walked into the pen with the others. She is a beautiful white with a small amount of black on her back by her tail and the prettiest blue eyes you have ever seen. It is so cold out and they fly into things when I try to capture one of them so I am not going to try to clip her right now but come warmer weather I may just to make sure she stays put. She has been able to fly for quite sometime and has not left me yet. Half of my flock can fly and the other half are pinioned. I am hoping the ones that can't get more than 4 feet off of the ground from being pinioned convince the others that they have it made here and should stay. The pen is covered but I let them free range in a small area that is not covered while I am doing duck chores. Thanks for your input.

It snowed through the whole night and morning. Now it has stopped and the 🌞 briefly winked through the cloud cover. Temperatures around the freezing mark and the dux have huddled in their house.
Tried the blower, but the snow is already too wet to be blown away and i am too lazy to shovel my driveway again. I don't need to go anywhere, there's enough food and beverages in the pantry and the temperatures are forecasted to rise above freezing on Tuesday. It can wait…
