Frank don't under estimate the wild Mallard drakes. My neighbor works at a company that has a large pond. He eats lunch outside when it is nice and watches the Hens get drowned. The Mallard Drakes will pile three on one in the water and she doesn't have a chance. If yours have always been around the wild ones and been fine that is good. Here they don't have a chance if there are drakes around.
I don't! - But the Mallard drakes always under-estimate my ducks every spring and receive some hard lessons:
The Indian Runners simply out-swim and out-dive the Mallards.
And the larger breeds, you can pile five Mallard drakes on top of Blanca and she would still be over water. - Before she would start to eat those drakes.
And my drakes fiercely defend their girls, with Boots looking like an aircraft-carrier vs. a dinghy compared to a Mallard.
I'm more concerned about my drakes drowning my ducks.

Never give up. Day 32 and trash day so I went up to empty the incubator in the trash. I have babies! Last night was the only time I'd failed to check them. I had some power outages is why they took so long. I got two babies and one egg with the ring of death. When I candles them yesterday they weren't even shadowing. They look fine and healthy for now. I'm checking them every hour just in case.
Invisible duck has not gone missing today.

Glad they didn't end up in the trash!!! Hope more hatch for you.

Invisi-duck has definitely found a hiding spot. At least she seems smart enough to come back in the evening, for now. Mine that did this eventually did not return. :(

Of course not in degrees (F)ake! 😜
:lau We're gonna get kicked out if we keep this up. ;)
I am about to set up the duckling-box for her, it is 21 (C)omfortable degrees outside, sunshine and some clouds. - You mean some gear like this:

Nice, it's 4 C here. Another few days of 'nice' weather like this, then back to around -15 at night next week. :( But, I can't complain. It isn't -50.

And YES! Those would be perfect!

Cool! - I was so surprised that no such list has been compiled before.
It should be announced somewhere in a popular spot.
Tell me if you need some help with this.
😳😳😳 I was too tired last night to look but I thought I had started something once but couldn't remember...

I think I'll wake that thread back up and see if we can't get some more info from others.

So happy to hear that your ducks can take care of themselves and I hope that spring is nice to them all. I am hoping that for all the flocks as there are many of us in an unpredictable situation.
