Your going to love them both but the Cayuga if like the one I adopted your going to love her personality, this one named Olive that came to live with us in Jan is so laid back. I love her quack too. It's so cute when everyone lines up to go to the upper part of their property Olive is always last not becasue she Has something wrong she is likes to stop and smell the roses on the way up :love

Over a million people without power here. I am thankful for the generator. Tornadoes took out the huge electrical lines. They are down over the interstate so that's closed as well.
I googled the storm that hit Houston, those are the type of storm cells we get out here in the plains where there is nothing to slow them down. Would be absolutely terrifying in a city like that! Especially in those tall buildings. Hope you are okay

That was my experience with KC. Even raised from hatching, they were skittish and wild.
My two Hens will eat out of my hand and are the first ones to come to the watering place to get in while I am changing the water. I got one as a baby and the other one was 3 months old. I am very fortunate. My Runners are the ones that are more off standish and my Mule and Rouen Hens are the tamest of all. Funny how some people have more luck with one breed than another. Some people have very tame Runner Ducks. Mine will let me near them but only one has every eaten the lettuce out of my hand.

I have a chance to get rid of my bigger drakes. I am not sure if my Rouen ducklings are males for 100% sure but my coworker is looking for a drake flock of ducks. She has chickens and is moving to a large farm she inherited from her parents. They would have their own duck pen and not be with the chickens. It is so hard to get rid of drakes that I am thinking seriously of letting one that I have had since a baby that will not leave my Muscovy ducks alone and just have my 3 little Call Drakes instead along with the Rouen ones if they turn out to be drakes. Almost for sure one is a drake and the other one looks very similar to it. She would give them a good home so the temptation is great. It's just hard to let go sometimes. Better with her though than in another friends cooking pot.
