The extreme heat we are having here in Ohio is soaking up any moisture we can get which is little. The ducks love it when I spray them off and I bought extra shading in the form of camo netting that I have attached to my regular netting on top of parts of the pen for them. I have been very fortunate not to have lost any yet this year. I start driving the school bus next week and can hardly wait to see how hot it will be for us then. Hopefully we will not all melt.Four to six eggs from - i have no clue how many - ducks.
I assume most of them have stopped laying due to the dry and hot weather. Never though i would say this: "Little Debbie can you swing by and dump some of your rain-water here, please?"
The creek at the bottom of my hill is dry, water-level in the duck pond is falling, many trees show signs of drought stress and today there almost wasn't enough pressure to push the water up to my garden.
This is what we were looking last week:

that’s super ! can we see a picture of the hound please? what a gooooood dog!As I said earlier its fox season. This young fox had certainly been watching human movement as he showed up 20 minutes after the humans normally have left for the day. What he didn't do was watch us for long enough because he never factored in I have Wednesdays off, so as a result of his error, I released the hound and he is now off plotting his revenge while I have relocated all the dogs to gaurd the poultry.View attachment 3912663
