So true. I had bought two bags of crushed corn cob bedding to throw in my ducks pens to cut down on the mud at the entrance way. I did it when they were out of the pen. When time to put them back in the pen, they all headed for another section of the pen away from it. I was surprised though that once they started that way with so many of them some decided to give it a try and then they all did. Now they are fine with it as they know it's better than mud. lol

we lost our beautiful Buttons to a snake bite yesterday. As this is the very start of the season the venom was extremely potent and as it had happened overnight it had already bound throughout her body. (Fyi fixing a bait poisioned cat is alot cheaper than attempting to save a snake bitten one.) In the end, the vet made the descision to help Buttons over the rainbow bridge. We've had cats bitten before, but they never suffered this

I thought that cats are save from snake-bites, due to their fast reaction being able to move out of the way.
