So, back in the day, I had pekin that would hatch feathered leg drakes. Not as majestic as these little fluff balls, but it fascinated me!

Thanks Jenbirdee 15-20" they are saying for us. We are on a mountain river but thankfully high enough the water won't get to us. Many need our prayers.

I pray that everyone plus their flock stays safe. We have gone from drought conditions to rain every day for over a week with high winds as we are getting the tail end here in Ohio from the hurricane.

I am feeling sorry for everybody who is/was negatively impacted by Major Hurricane Helene! ​

But for West Virginia Helene and that "cold" front was the drought buster we desperately needed. It has been raining here on and off since Tuesday evening, no heavy rain, no flash-floods, just a mild shower that was absorbed into the concrete, aka soil without causing erosion.
I have never seen happier ducks who enjoy the rain all day long:

... And they created their personal spa, aka the mud-flat:

I need to get some wheelbarrows with wood chips.
If i can remember where i stored the rubber-boots…

here in MD also light rain all week gradually softening what was hard dry ground. Ducks are very happy except for Poppy. Well, maybe she’s happy too with no more gasping for air from the aspergillus - since she has now passed away into the ever after beyond. RIP little Poppy. Only 18 months old fawn and white runner . my favorite little clown. I really hate it when the young ones die.
