For those who are following this thread and not the other thread being updated with gem info (go check it out, link listed above), thanks to @The Moonshiner we found this information:
"DOMINANT BLUE D 107 is result of crossing synthetic original paternal stock Blue Plymouth Rock with Barred Plymouth Rock maternal stock. Day old chicks are colour sexed. Day old cockerel chicks are barred with a white spot on the head and day old hen chicks are dark without a spot on the head." (http://dominant-cz.cz)

@PachecoPeeps informed us that in contrary to this information, we have found males without barring. Regarding that fact, further investigation is needed to 100% confirm..

P.S, I don't know about anyone else but I quite like a exciting breed mystery like this especially if we can find out more about this dominate blue gene..

My sapphire gems are the sweetest chicks! Here they are about 4 weeks old. Our local feed store has been getting them in weekly and I’m trying to hold myself back from getting more. They follow me everywhere and love to crawl onto my lap and fall asleep when we are outside. These were both labeled as pullets when we got them and had some yellow on the chest. One has always been a lot lighter than the other. My mom got some as well at the same time and hers ranged from really light grey to a darker grey.

I have 2 sapphire Gems. I believe they are 5 to 5 1/2 weeks old. Just took this pic today. She is definitely starting to show the darker head and neck. They are growing so fast! Her name is Elsa and her little sister is Ana, both named after the movie Frozen.

Hello everyone!!!! I just got my babies today as an early Mothers day gift and I am so in LOVE with them!!!! 1 fell asleep in my daughter's arms!!! Even though we dont know if they are male and female yet, we have named 2 so far.

In picture two it looks like you have a baby roo. Here is two of mine at almost 11 weeks so you can see the difference in comb and waddle color.
