I’m betting that it’s the little one, just Becuase she turned five weeks and has a red comb already and just somehow looks like a boy to me. My question is what do you guys think? We have three chickens. Two are pullets I believe. We have one buff Orpington 7 weeks old, one barred rock (or cuckoo maran) it’s so hard to tell- that’s also 7 weeks. And we have our baby, who is five weeks old and half barred rock. Please let me know what you guys think ? I think I’m right but not completely sure. The five week old- is he too young to make a rooster crow? My husband said that it was like a half one, like whoever it was, was trying to do it but couldn’t quite reach it.

Anyways pics below! And please help

FYI: I’ve gotten most of you saying in past posts that the two older ones
Look like pullets so im hoping that still rings true.

Looks like it’s actually a Dominique because of that rose comb.

And yes it does look like you’ve got a cute little boy!

It’s uncommon for them to crow at that age but it’s happened many times before!

I have Blue Orpington hen who is nearly 7 years old and she just recently started crowing in the mornings, just like a rooster. I read that when there are changes to the left ovary, this can happen.

Thank you! I really appreciate your response! Idk why I just feel like it’s a boy! The comb is so much redder than my older ones were at that age and it’s behavior also seems like different to my other girls!

Also thank you for the breed, because I was seriously wondering what other half he was.

I wouldn't be saying its a Dominique.
OP stated it was 1/2 BR and 1/2 unknown it sounds like.
No surprise a BR cross came out with a BR pattern and any rose comb breed would give it a rose comb.
Could be a BR X Wyandotte cross or?

Yes! It’s def a half barred rock as we know for sure that it’s father was a barred rock but have no idea what hen he bred with was! So I’m always wondering what other half it is!
