Well done pictures.
It would have helped to have dimensions and assembly description. The house and run look good for about three standard hens.

Love this! Very practical it doesn't involve any tools. Good example of upcycling.
I'm headed out to my thrift store today.

Excellent description of your variety of coops and tractors as well as the progression of your builds.
I'm sure this will help others with their ideas.

Good set up for segregating some bachelors or a mating pair. Nice that you put it together in one weekend. As you mentioned, predation could be a big problem. Good use of recycled materials.

Excellent, economical, easy.
I think you just about hit all the marks.
It would be really cool if you could add the dimensions and details of building your nesting box

Nice little city Coop! I'm so glad you were able to provide your son with the experience of raising chickens. It looks like a well-built coop for a small area. I respect your choice of drawing up and selling plans, however not sure how your article it helps the byc member.

A good start! I'm sure one will see the need for additional ventilation and protection from predators. As an example, a window won't cut it for ventilation . Good ventilation is passive and always open . This is something I would perhaps consider using to house chicks away from the adults, but only in the confines of a fully enclosed run.

Conversions are always interesting, I think you were very creative in seeing this hutch as a brooder tractor. Excellent creativity in not only your initial plan but best of all your revisions to improve on the setup.

Excellent build and it's description. Details such as the pull-out feeder and extra storage are great highlights that everyone should consider. You get the fifth star for adding the caveats section, this is most valuable to others considering this build.
Thanks for using reclaimed material.

Very nice descriptions but how you built this hoop coop. I appreciate that you gave detailed drawings and pictures of the features that put this together. I suspect you live in an area their predators may not be as much of a problem, in my area for instance it is necessary to build with zero gaps in fencing, with or without electric wire.

I'd like to better understand how you made that little house. I see that you've built a frame and stapled wire but how did you build the little structure? Or was it a pre-build? If it was it would be nice to know where you got it from and what kind of quality it is. I'd really like to know what the dimensions of both the house and the run is, too . I think it's really awesome that you are a city chicken keeper, good for you! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for that very thorough description of your coop. I appreciate you shared where you got your plans from, your detailed layout and what kind of modifications you used. Clearly you've laid a nice path to where one could obtain details on building a similar coop and good pictures of your build.

I would say this is not a fail! There are all kinds of ways to join a Gap oh, the previous reviewer gave good idea. It would be interesting to know how you like the coop otherwise, what features are working for you and what do you need to change. More pictures would be great. Thanks for sharing!

Very interesting coop. It's nice to see alternatives to the regular shed style coop. It would be nice to know where you got it from, I didn't see it mentioned. Also an idea of how big it is, both the house and the little yard

This is quite a Taj mahal (compared to mine anyway), very beautiful. I understand on pre--built coops you can't really share how you put it together, but maybe you can share your rating of the company you got it from, how the coop is holding up and what you love or would change.
Thanks for sharing!

Good for you for overcoming your predator problems! It's a challenge for many. It would be really great to see and have more detail on the features that you added to make your chicken palace worthy of fort Knox.
We look forward to hearing more!

Hello Justso, if you read the entire article you will see details of how the coop and run were constructed. We have had no breeches by predators. All the details of hardware cloth size, perimeter trench with buried cloth etc…. Are contained within the many pages of the article and sooo far it is Fort Knox worthy! Thanks for checking in, please read the article in its entirety.

Sounds like you put a lot of thought into your build. I wish I could understand a little more how you did it, we really need more pictures to visualize it. I'd really like to see those folding doors you wrote about. IMHO I wouldn't bother with building more nesting boxes, you could build a hundred and all the hens would still use the same darn one. Look forward to seeing more of your coop!
