Does your local Bunnings do sausage sizzle fundraisers? Maybe swing by early and ask them to hang onto the cartons for you, and pop back when they are finishing.
Head lice? A nightmare. In the end, I used Front line spray on the kids. It was the only thing that worked, and I figured they are protected against ticks and heartworm now, too. ;)
I buy straw when I can get to the shop, but use dry bamboo leaves when I run out. They seem to do the trick just fine, and they are free and bountiful, which is a bonus.
That's been my experience, too! Utterly tasteless, and the texture and aroma of a radish. The musk one sounds intruiging, though. I never, ever liked paw paw until I had it off the tree while holidaying on Niue, and it was heavenly. Got back here, and they were horrible again.

That sounds awesome! I wish I was handy like that. Most of my run is made with garden stakes, plastic trellis and bits of the old chicken tractor, held together with cable ties!
Chicken news. The rooster at work is getting bigger and more magnificent, but I haven't heard him even attempt to crow yet. There are definite rumblings to get rid of him. He came as a pair from a child at the school, and I THINK they are gold laced wyandottes, although the girl has black legs...
