I appreciate the suggestions and kind words.
She had passed when I went out to check on her.
I hope it's as easy for you Hegatha. I'm sending you a big mental hug.
I have sick chicken too that I was about to post this very same question.
My 1 year old Blue Andalusian has bad diarrhea.
I isolated her and tried to get her better but she is worse. She was eating and drinking and moving around some but not today. she is just hunkered down in the nest box...
Hey everyone. Tomorrow is the town of Alameda'a chicken coop tour.
Here's the link to the map and schedule.

I'm going to start at Taylor Ave. Maybe I will see some of you out there?
I sure hope it doesn't rain...

You are very near me...I'm in the fruitvale.
I plan on going to the Alameda bike tour and would love to partner up if you'd like. You can tell me about keeping bees...I'm currently researching beekeeping.
It must have been something she ate. She seems just fine this morning...right back in the mix with the rest of the gang.
I'm keeping an eye on her still... still seems strange it came and went out of the blue.
Java is about a year old. Small flock of 4 hens. Pretty new bag of laying pellets. All other chickens very frisky.
Her egg production has been down and her brown eggs have been tan the last few times she laid.
She does seem to have a loose stool and I can't tell if she's eating or drinking...
My Java has been listless the last 24 hours. I noticed when she didn't coming running for the scratch yesterday. Then I had to put her in the coop last night because she had hunkered down in the bushes. This morning she had moved into the run and then out to her favorite perch. she's really calm...
I'm so bummed...my food allergy test results just came back and I am allergic to chicken eggs. I'm shifting between stunned and outrage.
Cow's milk made the list too, along with wheat, which I expected. But by far and away the most reactive was eggs.

I'm booked this weekend but will gladly help next weekend if it's not too long for you to wait.
Hooray for keeping the coronation flock! That is great news.
I've sent Cheryl a PM but I wanted to say here that I have a truck, strong back and free time.
If you're all going to organize to help I'd like to be included.
Seems like there a lot of us with space and willingness to care for Cheryl's flock while she works this out, myself included.
Oh No Cheryl! I hate hearing this.
Maybe I can house some of your flock temporarily? Until you get things under control?
I have the room. Feel free to PM me.

yeah...they got cooked with the hot packing and then the time in the pressure cooker.
Does the vinegar help to keep them longer? Meaning: Can I shorten the time in the water bath because of the high vinegar content?
